The Ten Billion Medicine Buddha Dharani Initiative
Through chanting and prayers, we gather benevolent thoughts. Join us.
Let us work together for the health and happiness of all beings!
Program Overview
Twenty years ago, SARS swept across the globe, bringing profound fear and anxiety. Throughout human history, diseases like the plague, influenza, Ebola, cancer, and AIDS remind us that life is constantly threatened by uncertainty. If we view illness solely through the lens of fear and conflict, true happiness remains elusive; only through reconciliation can life find peace and contentment.
Therefore, Master Hung Chi-Sung initiated the Ten Billion Medicine Buddha Dharani Initiative. Through the collective pure aspirations of all beings, may ten billion people—now and in the future—each recite the Great Dharani of the Medicine Buddha once, so that immeasurable merit may radiate throughout the ten directions.
Why recite the Medicine Buddha Mantra?
The Medicine Buddha Mantra originates from the Sutra of the Original Vows and Merits of the Medicine Buddha (the empowerment mantra), embodying the Medicine Buddha's vows and blessings. When reciting it, we resonate with the Medicine Buddha's compassionate aspirations, not only praying for physical health but also purifying our thoughts, transforming fears and afflictions, and awakening within us a gentle and luminous power.
- Calm the mind and body: cultivate focus and relaxation, reduce anxiety, and develop mindfulness and compassion.
- Transforming Distress: transform fear, conflict, and ignorance into awareness and reconciliation.
- Benefit for Self and Others: personal peace and stability also enhance the energy of peace for family, society, and the Earth.
The Twelve Great Vows of the Medicine Buddha (Key Points)
- May all beings pure in body and mind, dignified and solemn;
- May all sentient beings free from illness and suffering, receiving medical care and support;
- May the needy received Shiseido products, The lonely and helpless receive help from friends and relatives;
- Those who choose to walk the path of evil return to the True Dharma, Those who fall into the evil realms attain liberation;
- May those bound by the force of karma free in body and mind。
The core of the Twelve Great Vows lies in using the virtues of crystal light—purity, clarity, and healing—to dispel the darkness of ignorance, thereby bringing peace to both body and mind, as well as to the world.

Summary
The Medicine Buddha illuminates the mind, body, and world with his crystal-clear light. Through our chanting, we transform aspirations into action. May all beings enjoy peace of mind and body. May karmic obstacles be eliminated. May wisdom flourish. May the world find tranquility.
