Wishing Wall

May all beings live in harmony and mutual kindness, sharing goodness and enlightenment, dwelling in the ultimate bliss of the Buddha, just as the Medicine Buddha does. May women and children, in particular, be treated with kindness, feel safe and secure, be free from worry and distress, and enter the ocean of the Dharma swiftly.

To my dad in heaven. Dad, another year has passed, and everything at home is going well—please rest assured. Even though you’re not by our side, we keep your teachings in our hearts. I hope you are living freely and at ease in the other world. We miss you so much.

May all beings be free from suffering and attain happiness. I dedicate the merit from today’s recitation of the Medicine Buddha Mantra to all beings in the Dharma realm. May everyone who is tormented by physical or mental illness receive healing and inner comfort, and regain health and peace.

With sincere repentance and a heartfelt vow: Looking back, I realize that my bad temper unintentionally hurt the people closest to me. Today, before the Buddha, I repent with all my heart. May I gain more wisdom and inner steadiness to manage my emotions, and I dedicate the merit of my mantra recitation to my karmic creditors, so that grievances may be resolved and entanglements released.

May wars cease and the world be free of calamities. Seeing refugees in pain and scenes from disaster areas in the news truly breaks my heart. May conflicts around the world come to an end soon, natural disasters lessen, and may everyone have a stable home where they can live without fear.

For my beloved fur baby, Pipi. Thank you for your companionship over these 15 years—you’ve been one of the most important members of our family. I hope you are free from illness and pain now, and that you can follow the light of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to an even better place. We will love you forever and always remember your adorable little face.

Praying for my mom’s surgery to go smoothly. I respectfully ask the Medicine Buddha to bless and protect her, and to ensure everything goes well with her knee surgery next Tuesday, with a good recovery afterward. May she be free from pain soon and regain her healthy smile, so we can spend more time with her and go places together.

Praying for a smooth job transition. Recently I’ve felt lost at a crossroads in my career, and I hope to gain the wisdom and courage to make the right decision. May my next job allow me to use my strengths, and may I meet kind and understanding colleagues and supervisors, so that work goes smoothly.

For my friend who is undergoing chemotherapy. My dear, I know this path is difficult, but please believe you are not alone. We’re all sending you strength and prayers! May the light of the Medicine Buddha protect you, minimize the side effects of treatment, and help you recover soon and be back with us.
